U.S. Mint strikes new dollar coins without ‘In God We Trust’
If I had a Nickel for every time I wanted the Dime and Penny to be “Godless” …
June 19, 2007
PHILADELPHIA — It looks like the U.S. Mint has struck again – or not struck again, depending on how you look at it.
New dollar coins featuring John Adams are missing edge inscriptions including “In God We Trust,” according to the Professional Coin Grading Service, a rare coin authentication company based in Newport Beach, Calif.
The company said people have found hundreds of Adams dollar coins without the edge lettering, repeating a previous mistake. In March, an unknown number of George Washington dollar coins were struck at the Philadelphia Mint without “In God We Trust,” “E Pluribus Unum,” and the year and mint mark inscribed on the edge.
A spokeswoman for the U.S. Mint said the agency is looking into the reports.
…I’d have a Quarter, which would be without the praise ‘In God we Trust’, just like the nickel.
Bad attempts at comedy aside, It would be nice to have Godless coins. Its just not as easy to sharpie out the phrase on coin as it is on a dollar bill.

Britain’s Prince of Edinburgh an island God ?
Villagers in the Anglo-French colony known as the New Hebrides worship England’s Prince Edinburgh as God.
For centuries, perhaps millennia, villagers (of New Hebrides) had believed in an ancient story about the son of a mountain spirit venturing across the seas to look for a powerful woman to marry.
They believed that unlike them, this spirit had pale skin.
Somehow the legend gradually became associated with Prince Philip, who had indeed married a rich and powerful lady.
Villagers would have seen his portrait – and that of the Queen – in government outposts and police stations run by British colonial officials.
Their beliefs were bolstered in 1974, when the Queen and Prince Philip made an official visit to the New Hebrides. Here was their ancestral spirit, resplendent in a white naval officer’s uniform, come back to show off his bride.
“He’s a god, not a man,” the chief told me emphatically, pointing at the portraits.
None of the cult followers can read or write.
As Philip turns 86 and they are planning to mark the occasion with a feast and ceremonial drinking of kava, an intoxicating brew made from the roots of a pepper tree which makes your mouth go numb.
They have even acquired a large Union flag which they are going to run up a bamboo flag pole.
50 bucks says George W. will be an island God within the next 100 years.

Why Presidental candidate Brownback doesn’t believe in Evolution.
I thought this was an interesting article coming from a Presidential canaditate that does not believe in evolution.
(I’ll save the ridiculing comments for you guys)
IN our sound-bite political culture, it is unrealistic to expect that every complicated issue will be addressed with the nuance or subtlety it deserves. So I suppose I should not have been surprised earlier this month when, during the first Republican presidential debate, the candidates on stage were asked to raise their hands if they did not “believe” in evolution. As one of those who raised his hand, I think it would be helpful to discuss the issue in a bit more detail and with the seriousness it demands.
The premise behind the question seems to be that if one does not unhesitatingly assert belief in evolution, then one must necessarily believe that God created the world and everything in it in six 24-hour days. But limiting this question to a stark choice between evolution and creationism does a disservice to the complexity of the interaction between science, faith and reason.
The heart of the issue is that we cannot drive a wedge between faith and reason. I believe wholeheartedly that there cannot be any contradiction between the two. The scientific method, based on reason, seeks to discover truths about the nature of the created order and how it operates, whereas faith deals with spiritual truths. The truths of science and faith are complementary: they deal with very different questions, but they do not contradict each other because the spiritual order and the material order were created by the same God.

Breaking News : Atheism Debunked
1.5 billion Christians can’t be wrong ?
The Atheistic evolution, better known as the “Big Lie,” is man’s way of suppressing the truth while running from God. Most assuredly, God in his perfect timing will expose the falsehood of this present-day dogma. Dr. Werner Van Braun, the father of space science stated, “The vast mysteries of the universe only confirm our belief in the certainty of its Creator.”
By contrast, atheist Madalyn Murray O’Hair, along with her son, lived and died most despicable lives, undoubtedly comprehending at life’s end where their willful blindness had led them. World-renowned French philosopher Michael Martin stated that more than one and a half billion Christians can’t be wrong. Fellow skeptic Patrick Glynn followed by saying, “There is no good reason for any intelligent person to embrace the illusion of atheism or agnosticism and to make the same mistakes that I did. I denounce atheism and only wish that I had known what I know now.” Another celebrated apostate, Bertrand Russell, proclaimed, “Unless one assumes God, life’s purpose becomes meaningless.” I could go on and on.
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, repeatedly warned the Pharisees and unbelievers of the one unpardonable sin: unbelief and the rejection of God’s grace. Deniers of our Creator God and the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ will one day be faced with the undeniable truth. Psalms 14:1 says it well, “The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God.”
What a ridiculous article, I can’t believe someone thinks these ridiculous arguments are valid:
Perfect video for a beautiful song.
Spiritualized-Ladies and Gentlemen We are Floating in Space
“…Spiritualized” been explored in such earnest detail — the London Community Gospel Choir appears prominently on a number of songs, while another bears the title “No God, Only Religion,” pushing the music even further toward the kind of cosmic gospel transcendence it craves. A masterpiece.
